As you know, everything we make for you is done by hand with a lot of love and care, but sometimes things don’t go quite to plan. This week, we got the tempering on our chocolate a little wrong and in the heat of the moment (no pun intended ) we have a whole batch of Caramel Crunch that has bloomed
What’s “bloomed” we hear you ask? Well, it’s when your chocolate looks… wrong! The chocolate can go cloudy or chalky, some people think it even looks mouldy but this is not the case.
There are two types of blooming that can happen to chocolate. Fat blooming occurs when your chocolate gets too warm (which is what’s happened with this batch, thanks to the heat wave). The cocoa butter melts and rises to the surface where it crystallises to form a dull white finish. Sugar blooming occurs when there is a sudden temperature change from warm to cold. Condensation on the surface of the chocolate reacts with the sugar and can make it white or grainy.
It doesn’t look that pretty but it’s 100% safe to eat, so we are dropping the price of this best selling treat so you can enjoy the deliciousness of it!

Alternatively, if you’re very restrained, you can freeze the products. Our cakes are suitable for freezing upon delivery for up to 6 months.
Once defrosted, keep covered and refrigerated and consume within 7 days.
Our cakes take less than 15 minutes to defrost, so you always have fresh cakes at your fingertips!
